In Love with The Divine Outcast - Continues

How do we know that we are not one of those souls called to exceptional intimacy? How do we know where God would lead us if we were more generous and attentive? We are Religious, called to Sanctity; it is certainly to us that the pressing invitation to live by Faith is addressed. What a source of living energy we would possess if we were to think oftener of  the Holy Spirit in us, incorporating us continually with Jesus Christ.

"O God the Holy Ghost, Whom I have slighted, grieved and resisted from my childhood unto this day, reveal to me Thy Personality, Thy Presence, Thy Power; make me to know The Seven-fold Gift―the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, of Counsel and Fortitude, of Knowledge and Piety, and of the Fear of the Lord. O Thou, Who art the Spirit of the Father and the Son, O Thou, Who art the Love of the Father and the Son, O Thou, who baptisest with fire and sheddest abroad the Love of God in our hearts shed abroad Thy Love in my heart. One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek after―not wealth, rank, power, worldly honor, worldly happiness or any worldly good―but one drop of that holy flame, one drop of that holy fire to kindle me and set me all on fire with the Love of my God. O Holy Spirit of God, do give me this, Thy most golden gift of all―Love―warm me, melt me, make me love Thee, my loving God, with a love great and tender, true, and persevering.

Let this Holy Love burn up and consume in me every spot and soil of the flesh and the spirit. Purify me sevenfold with Thy gifts; receive me as a holy sacrifice, wholly acceptable unto Thee, kindle me with zeal, melt me with sorrow, that I may live the life and die the death of "A Little Victim of Thy Merciful Love." Amen.

To live by Love, is closely to enfold  The uncreated World,―Voice of my Lord! And with Thee, in my heart of hearts to hold The Spirit, sending forth His flame adored.
Thus loving Thee, the Father too is mine; My feeble heart hath drawn Him from above,
O Trinity, the Prisoner Divine
               Of my poor love!
