How great should be our joy!
O holy Virgin, thou rod out of the root of Jesse, whose fragrance ascends to heaven!
From the beginning, thou wert chosen by God to bring the Redeemer to mankind. The patriarchs longed for thee, and the prophets announced thee, the just of Israel long awaited thee, and finally, through God's infinite mercy, thou wert given to the world.
O holy and sublime Virgin, Mother and Daughter of the Eternal King, every mouth shall proclaim thy praise, every soul extol thy glory.
Lead us to Jesus, thy Divine Son, that He, Who was given us through thee, may through thee graciously receive us. Amen.
