Saint Joseph leans close with an open book, while another haloed saint stands nearby. Jesus rests beneath a blanket adorned with colorful flowers.
Created in gouache—pronounced “gwash”—an opaque watercolor paint with rich colors and a soft, matte finish, the work is by an unknown artist. It is undated, though possibly from the 18th or 19th century.
The single frame video invites us to pause, draw close to Jesus, and offer Him our love.
