Dear Jesus

MY CHANGELESS FRIEND

FRANCIS P. LEBUFF. S. J.

―1923―

Dear Jesus, moulder and fashioner of all our ways, You know the work I long to do for You! It may be I am not to do it, it may be death will come to me, as You will have it come, with all my hopes still merely hopes and all my aspirations unaccomplished. Be this Your holy will, I here and now lay my cheated dreams before You as a holocaust. Thwart them if You will, but never let my one great dream of seeing You be thwarted!
Amen.

I opened my window to the gentle rain
and said my prayers there.
